Nano-structures undergoing tests for strength and resilience. The structures are as intricate as the Eiffel Tower, and a city block's worth of them could fit on the head of a pin. This is some of the strongest, lightest material in the world for its size. The block is lowering at the speed at which a fingernail grows. Thanks to Julia Greer and Lucas Meza of the Greer Group at the California Institute of Technology for sharing their research.
