Tour the world's smallest, strongest, and lightest architecture. The construction of these nanostructures is as complex as the Eiffel Tower, but small enough to fit inside a strand of hair. Their design repeats an eight-sided or octagonal shape up to three orders of scale, making it hierarchical and semi-fractal. This program was made in collaboration with Lucas Meza and the Greer Group at the California Institute of Technology. Music by KRON.
