Waltz of the Snowflakes

Expect excessive snow flurries and sparkles in our annual release of The Waltz of the Snowflakes dance from the Nutcracker. Tchaikovsky's iconic Nutcracker ballet, first staged in 1892, gained massive popularity in the late 1960s and continues to enchant audiences worldwide.
At Wonder Science, we have a special fondness for snowflakes, as you might have noticed from our series of snowflake videos. Keeping up with our tradition, we're thrilled to present a unique rendition of The Waltz of the Snowflakes from the Nutcracker ballet.
We had the incredible opportunity to film a dress rehearsal by the talented Los Angeles Ballet (LAB). Capturing the performance from various angles, including aerial shots, our video brings to life the magical transformation of the ballerinas into snowflakes. The audio is all live, adding to the thrill with the sound of ballet slippers echoing on the stage.
A heartfelt thanks to the entire Los Angeles Ballet Company, Artistic Directors Colleen Neary and Thordal Christiansen, for allowing us to film this beautiful piece. A special shoutout to stage manager Claire Dyrud for her invaluable assistance. Enjoy this winter wonderland of dance and music!
